METAMORPHOSIS OF MARRIAGE
Romeo & Visie
Our story started with love, dreams, and hopes for a shared life. However, selfishness influenced many of our choices as the days turned into years. We both chased our versions of success, comfort, and happiness. Although we called ourselves husband and wife, we hadn’t fully understood the spiritual and biblical purpose of our marriage.
But when we attended the HomeBuilders group led by Pastor Efren and Ate Lalaine Iringan, God opened our eyes to the purpose of marriage, not just companionship or building life together, but becoming one in Christ.
The verse in Genesis 2:24, “that is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh,” suddenly became alive to us. We began to understand that becoming one requires letting go of “me” to embrace “we.” From then on, we began to learn to accept each other fully and stopped trying to fix each other. Instead, we began to encourage each other to grow in Christ. And to live by the Spirit, allowing the fruit of the Holy Spirit to govern our responses, our priorities, and our conversations. We began to dream together again – this time with God at the center of our plans.
We thank God for bringing Pastor Efren and Ate Lalaine into our lives. Their obedience to God’s calling has not only blessed our marriage but equipped us to pass on the gift of spiritual transformation to others. Thank you!

Being part of a Homebuilder’s group rekindled the essence of what it is to be together in marriage. It helped us overcome the distance we established in our relationship through our selfish views and self-centered engagements that affected our growth and development as a couple.
Homebuilders revealed to us some unsettled emotions, conflict, and decisions that we had worked out through lessons, discussions, and sharing in the course of our fellowships and dates. True enough, these homebuilders’ principles enlightened and inspired us to achieve oneness in our marriage.
Putting God in the center is the gravity of our marriage lives for us to experience a strong, meaningful, intimate, and harmonious life together. As we communicate to God in prayer, it is important to establish communication with your spouse. Thank you for Partnering God in His Ministry to families.
